SySDSoft Demonstrates its Full-fledged 4G Products at the 4G World

Chicago September 16, 2009: SySDSoft, a company with a long track record in protocol stack development is showcasing at the 4G World its LTE protocol stack for User Equipment and its Mobile WiMAX MAC layers for both Mobile Stations and Base Stations.

The LTE UE demo, which runs on an ARM9 processor, demonstrates 4 concurrent streaming video sessions from an eNB simulator (DL), while transferring 4 files at around 4 Mbps each from the UE stack to the eNB (UL).

SySDSoft's LTE UE Stack is an implementation of L2 and L3 of the 3GPP LTE protocol stack. The solution comprises MAC, RLC, PDCP and NAS sub-layers. It is also supported with RoHC and HW ciphering/deciphering. The stack has been ported to several hardware platforms and real time operating systems. The stack is compliant with Release 8.5.0 and is provided with a comprehensive documentation and on-site technical support.

The WiMAX demo comprises 2 MSs and 1 BS, which are simultaneously exchanging 2 streaming videos between the MS MACs, running on ARM9 and, through the BS MAC layer running on PowerQUICC III.

The MS MAC has been thoroughly tested and is integrated within a third party baseband chip; it has proven a high level of robustness and integrity during several IOTs against Samsung, Motorola, and WiNetworks base stations. It has also passed 100% of Protocol Conformance Test (PCT). Both stacks offer a complete WiMAX Wave 2 compliant feature set, and come with the necessary hardware/OS wrappers, upper layers API's and test benches.
