SySDSoft Unveils its LTE eNB Protocol Stack

Cairo – November 30 2009: SySDSoft Inc., a leading supplier of 4G embedded software solutions for the wireless broadband market, has unveiled its roadmap for LTE eNB protocol stack development.

SySDSoft Inc., a leading supplier of LTE UE stack, is emphasizing its position as the market leader in the development of LTE software stack, by offering a distinctive implementation of Layer 2 and Layer 3 of the 3GPP Standard for LTE eNB to chip makers and ODMs. The software stack comprises the PDCP, RLC, RRC, and MAC sub-layers. The first release of the eNB SW stack will be available in January 2010.

"After our proven success and the high performance we demonstrated in our LTE UE SW stack, we are now offering our eNB SW stack, in order to expand to the network side. Coming from the UE side has taught us how to build extremely efficient code in terms of processing and memory requirements, which we are now benefiting from in the design of femto, pico, and micro eNBs", said Khaled Ismail, CEO of SySDSoft. "Since the first day of our eNB development, we have witnessed an increasing interest from key players in the wireless market, and our plan includes migration to Rel9 and Rel10, deploying novel technologies such as SON!" he added.

The stack is supplemented with a hardware abstraction layer, an OS wrapper, and upper layers APIs to grant rapid and flexible portability onto multiple hardware platforms. The SW stack also comes with SDS-Logger Tool as well as SDS-Verify Tool Box, comprising around 300 test scripts, the ability of adding and changing test cases, all within a very friendly GUI. Besides, SySDSoft Inc. is providing its customers with on-site technical support through all phases starting from system integration until inter-operability tests and product release.
